Hypnotherapy uses psychotherapy (talking therapy) together with hypnosis (imagery, relaxation techniques, suggestions) to effect changes. These therapies applied alongside hypnosis are usually quicker and more affective than the traditional forms of psychotherapy or counselling due to accessing the subconscious.
Yes. Throughout you are in control of your experience and can even reject the experience completely. My role is simply as a guide. We work collaboratively and all treatments are discussed fully and agreed to beforehand.
Most of the time, the treatments are carried out over the course of 6 sessions. That being said, some clients require more sessions, others less. Overall, I teach self hypnosis, NLP and mindfulness techniques throughout the sessions, so that you will be able to carry out changes independently of me and hopefully this will quicken your results.
I will ask why you have come to see me and what you would like to see or feel at the end of your sessions. I will then explain what hypnotherapy is, my method of working and what you can expect from the sessions. After the consultation I will guide you into hypnosis . After a session you will feel very relaxed. As I will be working with your subconscious mind, change is not often very noticeable, so you may just notice very subtle changes.
